I found a Magellan Meridian GPS at a really good price. $139.99, retails for $220.00. I know very little about GPS units as I do not own one. This is what the discriptions says. I want to know if this is what I want. I don't want anything fancy and super hightech. PLEASE HELP!!!!

This is a super, super buy. This GPS is a very affordable hand held and will do nearly everything the big expensive units will do. Features include: 2 MB built-in street maps that includes interstate highways, major lakes and river, cities, airports and more, 7 customizable navigation screens, map and point of interest database search functions, simulator demonstrates the Meridian receiver in use, 12 parallel channels, quadrifilar antenna, WAAS enabled, 3 meter accuracy, download maps with more detail using optional memory cards, compatible with the MapSend line of mapping CD-ROMs, supports street maps, topography, and many points of interest categories, protective wrap around rubber casing, waterproof battery door seal, unit floats, high resolution display with extra large type, ergonomic key pad, no hidden buttons. Comes with PC cable, 2 MB total built in maps, secure digital memory card slot, quick reference guide, Manual on CD-ROM. Compare to Bass Pro Shops price of $219.99. Save $80.

Mike, I'm also in the market for one of these critters, with the same drawback: I don't know what I want or need! I just don't want to get lost at LOTW, is my criteria. If you have a connection for one at this price, and are willing to share the info, please e-mail me at: [email protected]. thnaks so much, m[]
