| im looking for a rod that will throw the biggest of baits i can not find a rod that is for around the 16oz. and bigger baits. throwing pounders with my 6-10oz it feels like its going snap. |

I use a Thorne bros Predator XX Hevy i had it custom built its a 9 '8" rod works great for pounders |

just wondering what reels you use? i see guy on here all the time say go american-made for rods then in the next breath say go shimano,abu or daiwa when it comes to reels. i just find it a little funny.
t.i. rods are worth every penny. i also don't see how t.i. rods weigh more as some have said. the t.i. 9' xl 3-12oz weighs 10.1oz and the st. croix LT 8'6" xh 4-12oz weighs 10.2 and the premier 8'6"xh 4-10oz weighs 10.7oz and both the st. croix rods have 14" handles and the t.i. have 18" handles. |

You are correct on the weights. The TI rods are equivalent weight (or less) as a similar power/length St Croix. In short, I use very high tech materials and adhesives to make my rod blanks. I am about 99% sure that no other rod manufacturer uses these raw materials (at least the fiber material) to make rod blanks. This is how we can get the weight down but retain the power in the blank to throw big lures. Just an FYI, I do sell the 9' blanks too in case anyone wants to make a custom rod. Good winter project  I am currently having Tuscarora Tackle (Jeremy) make me 6 really high end custom rods for the musky shows coming up. Pictures to come...and I will pre-sell any of these 6 rods and deliver them to the show(s) for pickup.

Just wondering if anyone out there is using the XH to throw the MegaD's. Or, if you guys strongly advise going with the XXH. Thinking about picking up a 9' full grip non telescopic. |

The XH can handle them but IMO you will be happier with the XXH for overall loading of the rod.
Just an FYI-Tackle Industries rods will be at the Anglers 911 booth at the Chicago show this weekend!
