| If you could go on a 1 or 2 day guide trip for Muskie where would you go? When would you go? Who would you hire? |

| Easy choice... Spencer Berman... St Clair. He catches more big fish than ever seen before. He is like the Adrian Peterson of fishing. A man among boys.

Location: Illinois | I would check out somebody on Melton Hill, Cave Run, or Kinkaid during the winter. Lots of good guides to choose from.

| If you can get a trip with one of the guides out east I recommend it, however many of them are pre-booked a few years in advance. BR |

| not that you asked but, some things to consider is any guide you hire maybe check what they avg per day...I looked into a guide out east for a fall trolling trip, he was honest and up front that they go on avg 14 HOURS between rips...ok so they fish 8-10 hours tops in the late fall....you do the math...2 days, you might get a rip. or you might not.
Hammernick on Mille Lacs in late fall. Might want to ask how many fish they actually caught this fall. ie, be prepared to get skunked. If you simply want a chance at a monster, good to know what your chances are don't you think?
2 days, hard to beat the numbers and size Spencer and other St Claire guides are putting in the boat. |

That has not been my experience out east, there are more places than the 40 acre shoal to fish, but one should always do research. Typically you are booking 2-3 years ahead, so lots of time to research for out east. BR |

| Tough call. Definitely two day trip.
I'll say Georgian Bay in mid September with Johnny Dadson, Jody Mills or Graham Bristow.
Runner Up #1: Ottawa River in early or mid August with Mike Lazarus.
Runner Up #2: Lake Of The Woods in mid July with Bill Sandy, Doug Johnson or Dick Pearson.
Honorable Mention: Green Bay on the WI opener with Dennis Radloff or Brett Jolly. |

| I would also recommend Spencer Berman on Lake St. Clair. For both numbers and size the guy is an absolute freak. He averaged almost 6 fish per day in the Summer and almost 4 per day in the Fall. His boat had 62 (yes 62) fish that were 50 inches or better in 2012. And he works his tail off so his clients will catch fish. |

| I'm saving up to take the family back to vermillion with Bob Benson. We had a phenominal time while fishing with him I tied my personal best and our son caught his pb on the 8. We moved some nice fish and had a lot of action. He also made the younger kids day by taking the whole family for a ride. He's a great guy and is on fish |

| Spencer Berman had OVER 700 muskies boated in 2012!-----'nuff said!---Good luck , Jobu |

| 1st choice would be Bill Sandy. There is no lake I like to fish more than LOTW and he has been putting hundreds of fish in the boat per year, year after year. |

Location: On the Niagara River in Buffalo, NY | I know other fishermen who have caught 125 muskies in one week at St. Clair,so 700 muskies caught in one season is possible there. |

| This is easy Mike Lazarus without a doubt the greatest musky angler alive, in any lake, anywhere dont care, he would put the tank in the boat easy. |

| Thank you very much to the guys who have recommended me. Being a slightly younger guide it have been sort of a life time dream of mine to be mentioned in a conversation with guys like Mike Laz, Jason Hammernick, Larry Jones, etc. All of these anglers are truly great ambassadors to the sport who's example I have always tried to follow. I honestly think that anyone mentioned on this list will provide you with a chance at a true fish of a lifetime. |

I've fished with Josh quite a bit. He's an awesome fisherman and he taught me alot. |

| Scott Kieper is hands down the best musky fisherman in the world. He stays true to his roots n the Hayward area doesn't need to chase hot bites or lakes is as hardcore as they come and a musky genius. I've learned more fishing with this guy the past 4 years than I did the ten years before that fishing with the best sticks all over the world. He stays under the radar for a reason and boats more big fish n wi than anyone ever dreamed of. A 70 year old man got a 54in 50 pounder last year and a friend of mine caught a 40 pound hybrid this year. U can get skunked no matter who u go out with but to me the purpose of hireing a guide is to learn and that is one thing I assure u will with Scott Kieper. |

| You won't meet another better all around sportsman than Scott Kieper. His intensity is palpable. Never meet a white man so in tune with nature. Good people. |

I think you need to define what you are looking for when hiring a guide....are you out to catch the "fish of a lifetime" in an area that you will probably never or rarely revisit? or... do you want to learn about a lake or lakes that you have access to on a regular basis so that you can go out and fish by yourself with more confidence and success?
There are many very capable guides out there who can put a fish in the bag, I would think about the whole experience of the guided day an try and find someone who I could gel with personality wise.
For what it's worth: I don't think you could go wrong with Tony Grant on Cave Run in the late fall or Bill sandy on LOTW in September...both are nice guys and would be a blast to fish with for a couple of days!
