Was it me, or was it slow fishing this fall? It seems that almost all lakes and rivers in the south and east werent producing that many fish as normal. Ive talked to poeople from NY, OH, KY, IN, and IL and fishing didnt produce nearly as many numbers or big fish.

Any explanations to why? El nino? Fishing pressure? I just plain out suck?

I had a tough fall here in Northeast Wisconsin. My fishing season normally finishes with a bang during the fall because I'm a jerkbait /glider throwing fanatic. But this year was a little bit different. Some of that may be attributed to learning some new water and trying different techniques.I also didn't plan my fishing trips during the most oppurtune times. Burnt up a few weekends checking out new areas for deer hunting and also tried to get out some more for duck hunting. So much to do and so little time in the fall.

But this fall was also cooler than normal with very few days that had a warming spell. The water temps plummeted very quickly in the month of October, and many of the fish weren't susceptable to certain techniques. I had one fantastic day on the water that blows away any that I've ever had. But other than that it was pretty tough going.

catch ya later,
Krappie
