OK-Lets here about the awesome crap people got this year? Up to and including those Ranger boats the wife bought you with her change collection!

Best for me this year was getting my kids two new rod combos for crappie and bass fishing for 2013. Still waiting for them to sock it to me later today with the new Ranger boat!!!

Sold a few things, abstained from a few trips this fall, and wife gave the green light to finally get a Nils auger. Already ordered it and whether I drive to pick it up or have it shipped, I'm as excited as a three year old pooing on the potty.

Speaking of pooing on the potty, I have 4 and 6 year old girls. Apparently flushing isn't either in their vocabulary, or is just a waste of time....

You're not alone. Mine have the same issues. However, they are champs at peeing in the live well when we're out fishing (or bucket when I remember to bring it). The things that bring a father happieness when in the outdoors.

My son wrapped two new Plano boxes I had bought on sale and gave them to me. My dog gave me a pack of grub tails, good color though! And my oldest gave me a Revo Toro 50 HS with a note that said how much of the total I owed him to bring it to the gift amount he really wanted to spend. Good food, great time.

"Yes." The new Miss Universe--an American--agreed to be my wife. Turns out she is an avid a fisher. We are going to do the honeymoon at Gods Lake, Manitoba, on spring pike and then spend the next three months at Lake of the Woods. We may do a side trip to Lac Seul--a remote place. Turns out, she's a v----- too. Well...

I got a nice (blue) cotton long sleeve fishing shirt and "the Fisherman's Solution" from my granddaughters (Britanie 13 & Kortnie 4). Of course the latter will be permanent fixture in my boat (fillet knife-fish grabber-diamond knife/hook sharpener and line cutter all in one rust free handy dandy package). How cool is that?

Also got to see our other three grandchildren (Jazmyn 17, Xavier 14, and Hunter 12) from Maryland, they drove into the blizzard, and they made it safely to Mauston Wisconsin. That was probably our best Christmas gift, bar none.

Happy Holidays!

Elite 5 DSI! Huge upgrade over the Piranha Max I've had the last 5 years. Haha.

Some of the other usual items - Musky Hunter calendar, new hook file, some stealth leaders, license plate holder, Musky Strategy by Tom Gelb, a few createx paints, and a really cool musky night light! Good score. No lures, but almost everything I tossed last year was homemade.

For a "different" gift idea check out nightlightdesigns.com and see the "Mr. Musky" in the predesigned lights. My grandma found it at some craft show or something and it's actually quite cool when illuminated.

Ccj deluxe, which is a ccj with marine flooring (not carpet, not really sure what it is). That 27-28 seems about right, my other boat 17ft semi v only goes like 22 mph so going 30 will make me feel like lord helmet going to "plaid" (spaceballs ref). I don't have a lot of big water in my area so as long as the boat gets on plane fast enough (it does) than I'll be happy. I can't wait to get into some spots I've never seen before. Winter is going to take forever...

If you would have told me that prior to this trip I would have told you were smoking left handed cigarettes. The boat Captain's father owns a restaurant and cooked it within 2 hours of catching it. I'll post the pics of the meal when I get home tonight. To say it was good would be an understatement

Nice wahoo !

THIS!

Yummy!!! That is some of the best eating fish in the world! Thinking of wahoo cooked 5 different ways.....mmmmm

Really? I always thought they were kind of like Mackeral - you can eat them, but.... WHY?

Dead serious - highly sought food fish, wahoo often goes for $15-$20 a pound. Fresh wahoo is better than Mahi-Mahi -IMO. King Mackeral are a poor eating fish but there are other member's of the Mackerel family that are wonderful..Pacific Sierra Mackerel make some of the best fish taco's and ceviche possible.

As stated earlier the captain's father cooked our fish for us. He asked if we mind only eating half and he keep the other. One half was great plenty for us and was by far the best fish I have EVER had, PERIOD!
