What is your guys take on Hair.

Some bucktails are skinny with not alot of hair, Some have half a deer on them.

What do you have the most confidence in?

Skinny tore up Bucktails are what I prefer.
Give me a chewed up Bootail where you can see the wire shaft and I'm happy![]

As Howard Stern would say, the full Suburban...that's the way I like my bucktails. I like the flare you get from a lot of hair on a bucktail.

Jason,
I use Chris Drury's VooDooTails which are the best tails I've ever used. In the spring I like 'em on the skinny side. As the season progresses I go to Chris' standard VooDooTail which has an ample amount of hair creating some nice lift and pulsating action which is great for bulging tails over cabbage in Canada.

Hey Rich I'm right with you on the choice fo thinner hair during the early part of the season and than bulking up as the season progresses. It's funny though that some bucktails can literally become fish catching monsters while others may have a hard time even sneaking a peek from a skie.
But what really lites them up are those bucktails that sound like your grinding rocks in a blinder as your retrieving it. Man, some of my Mepps do that, and they can be downright naughty with the fish.

catch ya later,
Krappie

P.S. On a side note, those bucktails that have the blade skip a beat once in a whle are also my fish producers.

To be honest I like both and only buy thick ones.

You see they start thick and after catching 5 to 10 fish they become thiner. Now there is a time and place for the thin ones and I am not sure if this is because of negative mood or what but I normaly pull out my old beat up ones when the newer ones won't work.
