Contact your local DNR agency. Shipping could be very difficult and/or expensive.

Not going to happen here in Missouri.Nobody carries them through bait shops or fish farms. You can catch them with rod/reel,but illegal to net/trap them.

Id contact the Marina's that promote their Muskie lakes and let them know there is a demand for this. If they can make money, bring in business they may think about it. Poll some hunters out on the water and try to get some numbers that might look attractive. I'm sure they will look at it and if it looks like they can flip a coin they may buy in.
Just a thought.

After posting that I thought, why not start a poll here? There are many Muskie fisherman from Missouri who frequent this forum. It's worth a shot.

You could do what many WI bait license dealers do and come buy all the suckers we have in MN.  A little bit further drive but WI bait trucks are here all the time, so they must make it profitable.  You will need to  check the laws regarding transportation of live bait though before you get any crazy ideas.

Guys.... Down in Kentucky have been using Sunfish and Crappies for bait for years, they call the southern suckers. I am going to try them when I head down in April to Pomme.

Many bait shops will special order them if you request it. Give that a try or use bluegills as stated above.

Yes they are. Big northern LOVE crappie on a tip-up also. Biggest northern I've seen anyone catch in real life was caught by a buddy of mine a few years back on a tip up with a 9" crappie on it.

It is illegal to use any gamefish for live bait in Kentucky, except red ears I think. (i would not want to get caught using crappie, musky stalker). Y'all northern folks have different laws. In tn they use trout. Y'all might have those available if legal.

killroy's correct.

"Regardless of size or how obtained, it is illegal to use any sport fish for bait. (Sport fish species listed on page 5)."

In the same paragraph it states Bluegill are not a sport fish. Thanks for this link, I have been intending to search for this very information.
