| I am going to start painting up some lures, both old & new I have a question regarding the finish coat. I have heard of this product called Enviro-Tech (not sure about the spelling folks) as a finish coat. Why not an outdoor Polyurethane product? Where can I purchase Envirotech if I choose to go that route (Chicago area.) Thanks for any help you guys/gals can lend!

| I have tried different Poly's, but still prefer EnviroTex. It holds up better and leaves a better finish. Two coats of envirotex versus 4+ of polyurethane in my experiments. Envirotex is a little harder to work with, but follow the instructions, and you'll be okay. I live in Minneapolis and get the stuff at my local Menard's; its also available at hobby stores. You need to turn lures frequently while it is setting up to avoid runs, drips and errors. Always use two coats. If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to respond. |

| I wonder whether this envirotex smells a lot when you paint only a few lures with one coat. I have heard both "yes" and "no" and the two plastic containers in the package don't smell bad. |

| You don't have to turn the baits you are coating, Just hang them from the rear and the next coat hang from the head. As they are drying you can remove the drips from either end before it sets up. TR <[:praise:] |

| TR, does envirotex smell a lot when you hang the lures to dry? I want to know because if it does, I need to look for a place where I can topcoat my lures. |

| Divani, It doesn't smell much. My lovely bride lets me hang them in her kitchen during the winter months! So it can't be to bad! Have a Great Holidays!! TR[:bigsmile:] |
