Most videos online about tying marabou & deer hair are videos about tying jigs, which is the same concept as tying bucktails. I am by no means an expert on tying marabou but have been tying deer hair for bucktails for a few years. This past spring I tied my first marabou bucktails for the early part of the season. I tie mine to weighted coils that you can buy at Lure Parts Online or Moore's. I tie around 4 or 5 pieces of marabou to the coil at a time but before I tie I cut part of the tops off. First I tie a few hackle feathers on or flashabou then I tie 4 layers of marabou onto a 2 1/2" weighted coil. Here's the first 2 that I tied this past spring. I boated plenty of bass & pike & a couple of mid 30 muskies with them during the first month of the season.
