| Plan on spending a lot of time on Lac Seul next summer - fall.. I need to invest in4-5 tail thumper surface lures....Whats your favorite???? The only one I ever used was the Roberts Mudpuppy. That was 40 yeaars ago. Lots of new ones since then.
Topraiders??
Tally wacker??
Whopper Plopper??
Pacemaker?
Lelure Thumper??
Help, thanks in advance |

Location: Bartlett IL | Check out the Big Mama Lure Co - "Big Girls Prefer Our Wood". I met Tom at the Milwaukee Muskie Expo & he makes great baits. The Psycho Sis'tr I have works with both fast & slow retrieves.

Location: WI | Not necessarily a tail thumper, but there's a guy on this forum that makes a topwater called a Headbanger that sounds awesome and is very durable.
Pacemakers rock! If you can find a large wooden one they're awesome. |

Another vote for Pacemakers. They are my top producing topwater bait. |

| Top Raider in calm conditions.
Big Mama Twist'd Sist'r in anything more than flat calm (put ear plugs in if it's like glass out!).
Pacemaker in high winds, around rocks, or in pressured areas. |

| Headbanger, You will miss fewer fish with the head rotatation and sound up front than you will with the tail rotating baits...my 2 cents |

| Why in the world would you need 5 different prop baits? They are pretty indestructible and not that different from each other. I'd bring a topraider and maybe either a pacemaker or chopper and that's it. |

| Didn,t mean I needed five different ones, just suggested models to get the discussion started.
Thanks for all the replys, more than helpful as usual, good bunch of guyus here.

Location: Hayward, WI | Since I bought Pacemakers I haven't hardly thrown anything else. I still have the wood ones but I'd like to get a new plastic version also. They do a nice job of making good noise on a slow retrieve (I usually fish topwater at a medium pace at the fastest).
Before using Pacemakers Holcombe Tackle Stompers put plenty of fish in the boat too. They are a little quieter than the Pacemakers.
