| Performance is about the same, sometimes it takes a whole turn of the handle to engage the spool depending on where you leave the handle. You can still manually engage the reel which is still what i do because im used to the 700te's. I did shear the pawl from ice build up after about ten minutes of casting....this has never bothered my 700te's. it was replaced under warranty. Threw big rubber just fine. |

Location: Sauk Centre MN | I'm looking at adding a Saltist 20 to the arsenal and would love to hear why the H-C is better than the standard LW. I've never used any Saltist reel before. I've got all Abu stuff but need a big blade burner. I appreciate the knowledge... |

Location: Waconia, MN | I bought one earlier this year having never used a Saltist before. I sold it 18 days later. Just wasn't for me. I can fish Revo Toro's all year without a single backlash and I had issues with the Saltist. The casting distance was also an issue I ran into. Lastly, not a huge deal but I do prefer the push button spool release. The reel does engage by simply turning the handle though. I plan on using the money I got from selling the Saltist to pick up one of the new Revo Toro Nacl reels. |
