So what are the new baits coming to the shows this year? Any new videos to hold us thru the winter?

I had the chance to use the new Giant Squirko. It is a large rubber tailed jerkbait that catches fish.
Tony from Big Game has a new 15in minnow bait coming out that is a must for trollers. I got it down to 16.5ft with 60ft of line out going 3.5mph. 90ft out and you can hit 21-22ft.
I am very excited for both of these baits to hit the market.

Migizi Fishing Rods will be coming out with the Zipper. It is a vertical jigging bait like none other on the market. We will have a limited supply at each of the muskie shows and take orders after those are sold.

Hint: The Zipper doesn't just move up and down like other vertical jigging baits on the market. We will have a video prior to the Chicago Muskie Show.

I hope to have my new Tubby Jr (10" tube bait) and my new Shad Diver and Shad Jr out. The Shad Diver may not be out until Spring.

I think this a reference to the 11" weighted sledge. Runs great. I've only used it one day and it has produced a fish for me.

There is already a bait named the "Zipper". http://salmofishing.com/lures/zipper.html , Salmo also makes a very good vertical jigging bait that swims out to the sides and wobbles on the fall. It is called a Salmo Giant Chubby Darter. It's size matches well with both panfish and threadfin shad forage.

Search any names of lures and you will find others:
Hardhead

Spanky:
http://www.lunkercity.com/spanky.html

Tippy Darter:

Oh yes...the bait looks nothing like a chubby darter and has MUCH more movement than one.

Wow, pretty defensive there! All I said was a bait already has the same name. I guess Spanky baits, Chae and H20 tackle should have got on lunker city, tackle experts and lindy for taking thier product name??? Good luck with your migizi zipper at the shows.

All I did was state that there other baits with the same name...just as you did? I also stated that the lure moved different than the chubby. Just pointing the same things out.

The giant Squirko will be called " Squirko XL" I used them this fall they are great. about the size of a mag. dawg. they run deep and the fish love them . wait till you see one in the water.
Vibrations tackle came out with a larger Echo Tail. I had a few to try this fall. Like them alot, big profile for big fish.

Its a BullDawg type lure. Search Home Made Plastics and you will find them. Great Lures better than bulldawgs IMO

Slime King - It is not Lunker City. In the case of the HardHead Gene Larew and I use that trademarked name, they are in the bass world and H2O in the Musky/Pike world.

The Uboat can run really shallow or with added weight it can go deeper. It also has a nice hang time.

There are plenty of baits on the market with the same name. Bait makers can get away with using the same name as long as there's no copyright. Gotcha Muskies lures received a cease & desist order because there was a copyrighted saltwater bait with the name gotcha so now the Gotcha musky bait is no longer made.

There was a bass bait called the Shadillac but still a musky bait was called the same thing. Don't know if this is way the musky Shadillac stopped being made or not?

If you're going to make a bait just make sure there's not another copyrighted bait of the same name.

I'm anxious for the Migizi Zipper to hit the market! Vertical jigging muskies is one of the most under-rated methods of catching ski's in the upper midwest that I can think of - I like it that way!

I’m building as many as I can for the Milwaukee expo, probably about 30ish of the Molly Diver cranks and around 25 of the topwaters.  I’ll put what’s leftover on my website.  I’ll be selling these differently than the MDR Choppers and Molly Baits since the build process is much more involved.  I’ll can probably build another 30 or so before spring and will treat them as more of a custom build process where details and colors are spec’ed out beforehand.  Attached is a photo of the Molly Diver in a foil crappie pattern.
