Well, was out today on the wade in River X with Buckeyesfan and the amazing Triple D has done it again. 3 Muskies, 45 minutes, all on the Triple D! We're talking 38 degree water here, river half frozen, and this thing SLAYS 'em! The final tally....41" 44" 46"....with the 44 being fat and the 46 is SUPER FAT!!! I will post pics of these December beauties as soon as I can.

Mad dawg is a great guy to fish with and a great fishermen. Some of the fatest fish I have ever seen. He caught these fish in faster time then 45min it was more like 20 min.

Wow!!!!

Congratulations Mad Dawg. That is awesome. Its pretty cool to think that you are down in Illinois still catching ski(and some slobs ta boot!!!!) while most of us north of you are drilling holes in the ice waiting for spring.

Maybe the hype about the TripleD ain't just "hype" afterall?????

Can't wait to see the pics.

Nice fish Mad Dawg, just curious how you were working the bait and at what depths.

Thanks

Thanks guys...it was a fun day for sure. Mike, I was working the bait rod tip high, and dancing the bait through the current. I was actually cranking it just a bit then, using short quick erratic taps to imitate a struggling baitfish through the current. I was using the Triple D more as a jerkbait or glider than a crankbait. The fish all hit in fast current channels that were only 3-4' deep. And they hit like freight trains. Something with that bait just makes 'em go!!!

...and for slimm and all the other skeptics. Let me say this without being confrontational. I'm just a dude that loves to catch muskies, who happens to be fortuneate enough to have been "in" on the testing of these baits. I'm far from a pro, and have no financial interest in ERC. The bait just plain triggers fish. Pick one up in 2003 and you'll understand.

Yes I am a skeptic, however I am just giving my opinion, with no ill-will or negativity toward said product. At least the "testing" has been closed and not one of the "new wonder lure, and I need testers, please send your money..etc.." In closing, that last comment was not a shot at anyone either, just another opinion. After all this, I will put on my best well dressed man disguise, attend the Chicago show and buy three triple D's.......[]

LOL. I hope everyone thinks these baits are hype and they don't reach a general usage level for a couple of years. More fish for those that have em!

As for how these baits were tested, I don't know. I have never met Jason Long, though I have seen his picture and must confess I feel I am better looking. In fact I have never met any of them, although I do have a little blackmail evidence against one of them.[;)]

I had however discussed certain structural elements I usually attack to catch fish, and problems in the presentation I have, and certain needs I would like a bait to meet, with Jason, on the boards, and through e mail.
I was somewhat excited and very curious when I received a few early fitted blanks from the production run to try out and use down here.
I was more excited when I saw what the baits did after spray paint and hooks added. I have already caught 2 muskies on this bait(the primary test of any bait in aprox 5 hours total casting time) and have not yet had an opportunity to try them on decent water conditions on my chosen list of targets.
But high water eventually comes down and mud settles and I am still gonna be here when that happens, and these baits are gonna get more fish before the year is over.

My advice to everyone that thinks these baits are hyped, don't buy one. If you go to the pool demo and feel you already have a bait that does what this bait does, don't waste any money buying one(but please e mail me right away). If your fishing buddy buys this bait, don't buy one until he catches AT LEAST 10 FISH(and don't count any walleyes or bass, cause I am pretty sure they will whop this bait too). If you think this bait is not durable enough, buy one and throw a couple low fastballs into a cement bridge in 35 degree weather(like I did), or hook them up and break 80lb.test line off the bait a couple times, and see if you can rip anything out(I wasn't able to but maybe you can). Take a good look at Jason Long's picture and ask yourself if you would buy a used car from this man?(Oh wait, that was Nixon wasn't it?)

Well, whatever, in other words-don't buy any of these suckers for 2 years at least! Give the faithful long enough to clean house, undisturbed, for a short interlude...

LOL FSF I believe the baits I sent you should suffice for blackmail payment. Please let me know if you feel otherwise. If you could allow those communications to become lost in your archives it would be greatly appreciated. Now that ERC is on the way to #1 (lol) it would be a shame if our vast empire were to be cut down by the actions of one unbalanced partner.
Thank you very much for your kind reviews. It’s a privilege for us to have such competent and expressive evaluations.

I too feel superior in the aesthetics department when compared to the distinguished jlong. Why he is our face man I still contemplate daily- ha-ha. Jason’s true genius rests in his lure craftsmanship skills though. If you guys think he sounds nerdy when posting on message boards, you should try to decipher the pages of e-mails and multitudes of faxes diagramming and explaining the intricacies of “plumb-line theory” and how it applies to “lure laminar flow”.[:p]

Have no worries about the lure's integrity, if I can hang my 190 lbs on it without a creak, there will be failures in your other tackle first.
