In the early 1990s, we rented a house directly across a city stree from Lake Superior. There was nothing between the beach and Canada except water. We were close the harbor and you knew it was bad when several of the big freighters were anchored, seeking shelter. Gave a whole new meaning to this song. What I remember most about the storms was not the huge wave breaking but the sound. Can't imagine being on that lke in one of those storms.
