I need some help----I have some Suicks in the box. Never threw them. I bought a weighted Suick on my trip last week. Heard it was a great bait for fall. I like the action but.... Tossed it for a little while. The weighted suick acted like it was a surface bait--9.5" Suick--why the heck was it floating to the top?? I never got her below 2' deep, twitching back to the boat. Aren't they supposed to be neutrally buoyant? This was packaged as a weighted Suick and had a small disc behind the first hook. Yes--I bent the fin down to dive. I don't know enough about these baits, I thought that it would dive a little deeper. Can someone tell me the technique or did I have a "light weighted" Suick?

Thanks

It's going to rise to the surface even if its weighted. You can add more weight to keep it down. Search the forums. Steve Worrall has several videos on them that are really helpful too. Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but to get a weighted suick out of the box deeper you have to give sharp pulls and reel fast initially to get it down where you want it. Adding more weight to it will help keep it down, as well as get it down faster. The easiest suggestion I have seen is attaching a sinker to the front hook.

Also after you use it for a while, it does take on a bit of water and will stay deeper, but I doubt if it will ever sink even if this happens.
