Hi Ranger,

In response to a question you raised in an earlier thread, the answer is "YES" there are certain baits that muskies tend to inhale and get themselves deeply hooked. Usually smaller glide/jerk baits are the culprits in deeply swallowed hooks. It kind of makes sense if you think about it, because here you have a slow moving bait (especially in the fall) and it gives the muskie time to home in on it. Depending on how aggresive the fish is at the time will also play a part on how deeply the baits are taken.

Ranger, one note to add. It's not ok to stick your hand in a fishes mouth when they are hooked that way. For pete's sake use some pliers and cutters.[;)]
