The season official ends on Spirit and East & West Okoboji on Feb. 15th and reopens May 15th.
Clear Lake, Theedz favorite sewer does not have a closed season.
Open water season??? It open now and reported water temps are 40 ish.
The state record Musky was caught from Spirit in 2000 a 50 Lb. 6 Oz monster.
A 7 day non resident license is $27.00
Iowa has some very nice up and coming fisheries further south that may not freeze at all and the season does not close. |

You may also be interested in attending with a bunch of other Musky Nuts the Heartlands Chapter of Muskies Inc. Party/tournament in April. I beleive that a Musky Nut group outing sponsored by MuskieFIRST/OutdoorsFIRST will be heading down and fishing the event!
Last year was very rough but everyone seemed to have a great time! |

| A quick look at the weather indicates that you had better take augers if you wait until Dec 13th to hit Spirit. I'm gonna call my shot and say that 'boji and Spirit will both be froze up by the end of this week.
Mr. Shady, might be a good opportunity to hit Lake X that we've discussed. It will be open a week or two later than the others. |

| Looking at the forecast I'd have to agree. For anyone interested the above mentioned Lake X is about 3 hours south of Spirit Lake.
