My buddy just bought a cabin on the lake. I know there are muskies in there but does anyone have much luck on this lake? Any info that anyone is willing to share will help decide how much time to spend on the lake tring to break it down.

Thanks!

WI DNR page has it listed as an A1 water...I'd probably give it a shot

It is a very busy recreation lake, almost unfishable until after labor day. I almost never go there, do to enjoying peace and quiet, but they are definately in there.

I fished that lake back in 90-92. No muskies back then, but huge bass and nice gills.

If memory serves, it is a weedy lake with some deep holes and edges. I'd fish shallow early in the year, feeder creeks and bays, then move deeper as the season went on. Try the night bite out there as well.

I remember when the DNR put muskies in there. More than a couple locals were less than thrilled. It wouldn't surprise me if they have their own "de-stocking" effort.

Thanks for the info so far. Sound like I'll give it some time to learn the lake. Planning on going up there Oct. 26-28 to help take out the peir. Thinking about bring my boat along and give it a shot. Planning on starting off trolling (if it's not too weedy still) just to cover water and find casting spots to go back on later or next year.
Open to and other thoughts or info if anyone has some!

Lived on the lake for over 25 years and muskies have been in the lake long before the dnr started the yearly stockings in the early 90s. Have caught and released fish over 50.
They started the lake drawdown on Monday Oct 15th so you may not get your boat
in the water.
