I will be heading down to Cave Run in a few hours for a little Thanksgiving musky fishing. Hopefully me and Tony can nail a fall hawg.

I'll let you know the details when I get back on Monday, god it's great to be a teacher!

So, Mike, how did it go? Looks like you had all different kinds of weather, I hope some of them caused fish to move. Let us know, thanks, m[]

The Cave was tough last week. With highs in the 30's and super strong winds, 20-40 mph. We had snow and sleet. Fishing was tough, with 3 boats only a few fished were moved on the first few days. On sunday and monday the fishing picked up and some fish were caught, but no fatties.

I did manage to get a 10 inch Jake in the back of my head. One of our buddies forgot I was only 2 feet away from him. Tony had to poke it through, cut the barb, and pull it back out. That was really sweet.

Hey Mike good thing you're a hard headed musky fisherman.

Imagine the results if he'd have stuck that 10" Jake into the back of a walleye guys head??? We'd be reading a damn obituary right now.

Well as Mike said weather was tough on us...as a few guys cancelled and we had less than a dozen anglers down. We did as always have a great time with plenty of great food.We had beer for 20 but with the chill we drank it all. I hope more of you guys are able to break away after the holidyas next year to join us.
Yes we did have roadkill again but instead of stew I did barbeque...it was awesome. Oh yea we did catch 9 muskies, for a complete breakdown of lures, areas and anglers go to our fishing reports page at www.kymuskie.com
Looking forward to meeting some of you newer guys and having a cold one with the guys from last year at the Muskiefirst Outing on the CAVE 2003.

Bryan
The CAVE in much more dependable in March however steady mild weather in Febuary can produce. March is our numbers month with some fatties caught too. Boat rental is poor downhere, 12' Jon boats 9 hp only, housebaots and pontoons.
Can't beat fishing the CAVE when everything is froze up north. If I can help with lodging or guiding let me know.

Bryan - if we get a warm spell (over 38*!) in Feb. and you think you'll want to come down, let me know. I'm 3.5 hours from Tony's place and I can bring my boat. Your best bet, though is to get Tony to guide you for a day, then I'll come down for a day or 2. Tony's one of the most patient and instructive guides I've fished with, you can't do much better, and his lodging is a great deal. m[]
