Which would you rather go to for a weekend trip? I've heard that both lakes can be pretty good at times as far as southern lakes go but dont know too much about either one.

Cave run has many more muskies and is much easier to find fish. This being said, Cave Run has much more fishing pressure. Both lakes are beautiful and offer a legitimate chance at a fish over 50".

This time of year with the fall colors just beginning and the shores are bound 97% by Daniel Boone Nat Forest on a lake with no docks or houses or anything.... Ah my heart says the "Cave". Oh she has fish too! see the thread "My first 50."

I fish Melton Hill religously but the fish are very tough this time of year for some reason. I would stay on Cave Run as you probably have a better chance at fish there.
