Month started with temps in the mid to upper 50s...two days of cold and winter storm type activity and it's 45 at the dock this morning after being 55 out on the lake on Wednesday. Sun is coming back out this week and hopefully it warms up a bit. I'd like to see temps no less than 50 by next weekend or things could cool down too fast at the end of the month and keep us off the lake into mid November.

Been a little action this weekend, but haven't heard of anything of any size. most people trying to troll a bit with the nasty weather. Im hoping to get out next weekend for sure if I can't get a couple days in this week.

Good luck to all in the fall season!

J-Man

Water temps were at 50 degrees east of Morson yesterday while I was *choke, choke* walleye fishing with a childhood friend and his buddies. That will be the end of that craziness for the fall. Back to trolling mode on the weekend. Guests here are catching 1-2 day through this nasty cold front. A nice 47" was the highlight of Saturday's time on the water.

Water temps have been 45-46 in the mornings...hopefully will come up with some sunshine during the days and hold steady for awhile. I will be out on the lake Sat/Sun, but will have someone here on the weekend to pump gas. I'll be checking emails at night after I get the boat covered up and eat dinner.

The bite should be starting!

Good luck!!

We finally have a Musky angler in camp. Here is the scoop. Water temps near us are between 42 and 45 degrees. Today is the second day of our customers' stay. Trolling is his method of choice. Using both Grandma's and Jake's. He had a Musky on yesterday but unfortunately was unable to net it. Today he landed a 40 inch Musky and about a 30 inch Northern both on Jake's. Good Luck to everyone fishing near Morson. Awesome time of the year, you really have the lake to yourself in the fall.

Saw water temps from 45-48 during the afternoons while out all over the area the last 3 days. Would call it a slow bite to start, but anglers in 2 boats have already boated 45", 48" and 50.75" fish as well as 4 other personal bests to go with the 50.75" PB Sunday evening.

We'll have anglers in camp the next two weeks so will try to keep conditions current. Temps look good the next 4-5 days but then forecasted to be below normal for highs.

Good luck out there. Wave if you see me trolling by in the Pooh boat. I should be out fishing more than working the next couple weeks.

bite has been tough the last few days with the front moving through. water temps been 46-48 so holding its own. not seeing as much bait as usual and that is corrsponding to less contact with muskies. one more day or wind/rain before it clears up a bit.

water temps still holding at 45-47ish depending where you might be fishing. muskies have generally not been going crazy so far, but there are fish being caught. a few 5 and 6 fish days have been the best action so far from those reporting their results. several fish 45" to 50.75" caught the first week of the unofficial trolling season on LOTW. Several boats out this week so hope the bite picks up. Bait fish has been on the scarce side so once that starts showing up, you can bet the muskies well be right behind it.

Cheers.

I am heading up friday with a few guys. This will be my first time up there in the fall and can't wait. Looks like the weather might be chilly but the wind might hold off which would be good. See you friday.

Mixed bag.

Some very experienced anglers are doing well with numbers (7, 11) the last two days for one boat.) Most others have been struggling somewhat. 4-5 has been a great day for most of those fishing. Nice fish caught/reported this week from our guests include: 48.5, 48, 45.5, 45, 45.

Water temps have still been mid 40s most areas.

Haven't been out myself since Saturday..last guests left Monday with a 49, 48.5, 46 among some others between two boats Sunday and Monday. Water temps had dropped below 40 in some areas.

Have reports of ice forming in some of the bays without much current and/or wave action to keep things moving.

Hope to be out several days in the next week plus before shutting the last building down here and heading "south" to winter in Rainy River.

Hope all is well for your end of season fishing wherever you are hitting the water.

Cheers and all the best in 2013.

See you on youtube this winter!

Yes thank you Justin. For "us" who only get up there once or twice a year, your reports are very appreciated and helpful. Have a great winter and good luck the next couple of weeks/days up in God's country.

I appreciate the kind words, Guys. I'm pleased to be able to provide some info when I can. Hopefully I can be on the water a little more personally next summer, but we have a great group of guests/customers that have been generous in keeping me in the loop relating to what they are seeing out on the lake.

Fishing season is over for me. Our planned last day got wiped out today (Nov 10). Ended the season on a skunker on Friday (Ouch, the only skunker of the fall too!)(November 9), but no complaints here. Fall fishing was a bit tough in terms of numbers, but that kind of fit with the rest of the fall fishing in other species. Water temps were 37-38 on Friday.

One more day of closing up chores and a half day of packing up before the resort will be hibernating. Look for the trolling report within a couple of weeks as well as photos and videos throughout the winter.

Good luck to anyone still fishing and those in the woods chasing wildlife.

Thanks to all those following the reports from our aresa of Lake of the Woods throughout the season.

Cheers.

J-Man
