Wondering if anyone has used or could recommend a good guide in the Polk County, WI area. Deer, Bone, Wapo, etc? Thanks for any help.

It could be difficult to find a guide that is fishing deer and bone currently because both of those fisheries have gone down in the past few years. Hope that helps.

I think you have not gotten any responses because, as mentioned, that is not really an area where top Musky guides focus on....I am not aware of any myself

Get some suckers and go to any of the three and fish the deep weed edges/breaks and you will contact fish. Sucker fishing on all of those lakes is really good. As others have mentioned, Deer and Bone have gone downhill, but still likely you will get some action, just not like it was years ago. Not a lot of really big fish either. Wapo is probably your best shot at a big fish.

I believe Steve Genson (Hayward area guide) used to guide those lakes.

Contact Monty's Outdoors of Milltown WI. Ask for Monty Stanton and he will give you names of local guides for Bone and Deer. But don't over look the Apple river by Amery.

Try Tom Boley, I know he has put good time on the lakes you mentioned.

I'll second asking Monty. Monty actually would be a great guide there. Can wait for breakfast at Hacks.

Check with Ryan McMahon, he guides in Polk county as listed on the website, and I know he catches a lot of fish.

Good luck out there.

I won a trip with Ryan Wold a couple years ago. Larry showed up later in the day, and we were fishing on Deer.
