 | How many of you guys have caught a muskie on the first cast of the day? It has happened 4 times in my boat. Most recently was Friday on a 2lber. Partner hooked up while I was still digging my bucktail out of the lakewood. Best part of the story is I then realized that I forgot the net at the house. Good thing we had a pair of Lindy gloves. Fish was released safely beside the boat. |

 | Twice on suckers. Arrived at spot, hook sucker up, drop at boatside 5-8 second later clickers went screaming, set the hook and took awhile to get my #*^@ old dog sleeping on net to get off the net, and finally net the fish.
Funny thing is both came on first day I used sucker of the season 2 years in row.

 | Happened to me 3 years ago, first cast on the first spot, my buddy who i was fishing with thought i was just kidding when I said, I got one, he didn't believe me until it was up close to the boat and he saw it. It was only a 34"er but still a first cast all star! |

 | One year I had a new rod, new reel and new bucktail that I wanted to try. I said to my buddy, "I want to catch a Musky on this set up...right over there." On the first cast one hit and we landed it. We still laugh about it to this day. |

 | 3X's but only hooked them. 0 for 3 on getting them to the net. Still an awesome feeling. I have coincidentally caught 2 on the called "Last Cast". Also very cool. |

 | First cast of the SEASON last year. Also was the first cast with a new bait. Got about 10' from the boat and was about to say "starting the season 0 for 1" when it hit. |

 | It has happened to me once. It was the first fish I had strike in a figure 8 my second year musky fishing. I don't know which surprised me more, seeing a fish on my first cast or actually getting a strike on a figure 8. By the way, it jumped and threw the hooks. |

 | this spring, my dad and i were just slowing down at our first spot, when i saw one porpoise 20 yards from the boat. I had tried casting to a fish many times with no result. but sure enough, she was right on the double 10 when it got to the boat. she hammered it in the second turn. 37" i didnt even think about it being first cast until i was releasing her. feels like a major milestone to have done it. |

 | I caught a 48.5 inch muskie on the first cast of the day this September. Sweet! I was in the middle of telling my son that I was going to catch a fish before he got in the water. It is great to "talk smart".

 | Had a follow on my first cast ever musky fishing. Reeled until I ran out of line, stopped the lure, and just stood there. Then I remembered I was supposed to do a figure 8, so I did. The fish just sat there looking at me. I should have known it was just a sign of things to come. |

 | Caught one and lost one on back to back casts this summer and then saw another completely different fish 3 casts later...needless to say one of the crazier things I've ever had happen. Also caught one on a sucker one year that i had just rigged first of the day....dropped it over the edge of the boat, and saw the fish come up and nail it....that was pretty cool!
