Location: davis,IL | I know this question has been asked many times before.. but... I'm looking for opinions on a decent reel for double tens....I'm not looking to burn them , just a plain jane retrieve. I have a couple of Okuma indurons (5;1), kind of broke both on a 2 week trip to Canada. From 2, I now have 1 that works O.K. for the time being after some modification. Bottom line is I like the 5:1 ratio, the retrieve feels right for what I'm doing, don't want a big saltwater reel. I'm currently contemplating the following; Shimano Calcutta 400cte, 400 B, 400 D, or a Revo Winch. I currently use 2 Revo Toro's (5.4;1) for cranks and smaller bucks and love them (they rock). |

Good choice. But if you don't wanna spend that much get a 400B with a power handle. You will do fine |

| If you just want a reel for 10's only get a winch but if you want more of an all purpose reel get the calcutta 400te. Both get the job done |

| I have 2 revo winches, one on a st croix legend tourny big nasty and the other on a legend tourney sling blade. I LOVE them. Can cast all day without fatigue, and have been using them 3 summers now without a one problem at all. I stop at the St. Croix factory store in park falls when im fishing in vilas county and buy the dinged and dented special rods. They knock off $130 a rod usually and you have to physically inspect them to find the flaw. I have 2 rods that I still havnt found the problem. IMO the revo winch is the way to go, my girlfriend casts double 10's into the wind without backlashes |

| Revo Toro 60/61 winch.
I have a Trinidad and I don't use it much, even for 10's. Its heavy, uncomfortable to palm and easily backlashes. No problems what so ever with a Revo Toro 61 Winch, amazing and very versatile reel. Better then my TE's. |

Location: Lake County Illinois | I love my winch for double 10s and have both other gear ratio toros also,If you like your toros and not looking to burn the double 10s like you said, the winch is a great reel. |

Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | If your not looking to burn then I would throw another vote toward the winch as well. I also own the 5:4.1 toro and love it! Personally I owned the winch... But I like to burn blades, not a good reel for that. Power yes, lack of fatigue yes, good (great) on normal retrieve, yes.. good for burning.. NO. I think the 5:4 is better for 10s, but that is just my opinion. I sold the winch cause I never used it for what I like to do, but if you are not looking for burning blades then the Winch it should be. But, if you are also looking to toss some other stuff with it then the TE is an awesome choice as well. Just blades (no burning) = get Winch... Other lures+blades= get TE |
