| Couple of questions
I fish in Canada but live in Illinois and, despite my best efforts, have yet to land a musky. I have heard great things about Webster area lakes and actually been to to the area with y princesses but never really fished the area
1) is it worth it?
2) Guide recommendations?
3) which lakes? and at what times? Morning and Evening?
Thanks |

| Hey there Slashorn----- I live in Chicago(NW Side)- but my uncle has a place----two of them actually, on Backwater Lake and we have been fishing down there extensively since the early 90's. I have personally caught over 300 muskies from Indy waters so the answer to your first question----YES it's worth it! However, you must take several factors into consideration when fishing down there-----weather, water temps, boating pressure etc. Try and put as many positive factors into your favor as possible. Fall is coming and the lakes will begin cooling down to turnover soon----after that time the "live bait" bite will be ON-----a great time to drift some suckers and catch some big fall muskies. If you are looking for a guided trip---try the guys at Webster Lake Guide Service----Chae Dolsen, Jeff and Jason King--------they know how to put the hooks to Indy skis for sure. If all else fails----shoot me an email-----i'll show you how to smackdown those cornfed critters. Good luck to ya------Pat |

Location: 15 miles east of Lake Kinkaid | I have to second Chae, Jason, and Jeff. Chae lives on the lake and spends lots of time out there. I know Vince Weireck (sp?) and Mike Hulbert also catch a lot of nice fish out there. |

| Another vote for Mike Hulbert, Mike's a great guy, and will work his tail off for you. He'll keep you out there all day if needs be. If you're looking for your first or a "trophy", Mike will lay out a good game plan, and do his best to make it happen for you. Also, He's a good teacher & a friend. He won't be out there trying to out fish you. Ask him questions too, He'll help you with as much knowledge as he possibly can.

Matt,
I no longer guide...my focus now is on building quality custom rods for all of us muskie nuts and big game fishermen. Randy Bush, who guided with me, has teamed with Broc Pierce (who used to guide for Chae) to bring you Predator Pursuit guide service http://www.predator-pursuit.com. Great couple of guys that fish more than anyone I know. Randy usually puts 300 hours on his motor per year...that's some serious lake time! I know they have been catching fish but haven't been much size as the water temps are still warm (77-78).
Mike Hulbert will be in MN at least through the middle of September as far as I know.
You can also contact me for more information if you would like.

| Check out Randy Bush @ http://www.predator-pursuit.com/ for nothern Indiana musky fishing. Great guide service. Webster and Barbee both had weed kills this year so not good at this time but there are several other lakes for good fishing. |

Location: Chesterton, Indiana | Even try the Webster Lake Musky Club guide for a day. You can fish with guys who fish the lakes all the time. It is a good time with food and get to talk to a ton of people that know alot about the lakes. You will meet some of the guides there like Bill, Chae and others. |

| I would go with bill benet at hoser heartland or gary anis at musky experience. They know their stuff! |

| If you really need to hire a guide out there, give Chae or the King brothers a call and book any one of them for the day. In my opinion, they are the most consistant guides on those lakes period. I fish with Jeff now and then and that boy is an Indiana big fish magnet, usually |

| Chae, Jeff, and Jason at Webster lake Guide Service hands down. They catch em and put the pics up and don't say much of anything. Chae is the longest running single guide in our area. Fishes mostly everyday, and just plain knows his %$#@ ! |

Predator Pursuit or Mike Hulbert
Agreed! |

| The good thing about fishing in Oct IS-----the live bait bite should be in full swing. Get yourself some nice suckers and quality quick strike rigs----and hit the waters. The fish should be cruising the shallows and breaklines looking for baitfish to munch. Pray for some cloudy days and your're in business. If you're set on hiring a guide----get the guys from WLGS-----they WILL put you on fish. Otherwise---do what I do out there------put the boat in your favorite Indy lake-----AND GO FISHING! Cover water with your live bait and you'll find fish----see ya out there----Pat |

| Randy and Broc are best in the business right now! Best chance at fish and get guys in general! Really know their stuff and spend tons of time of multi lakes in our area. I have boated couple nice high 30 mid 40 with them over summer. Also Broc help my mother catch her bucket list Muskie. We hadn't been fishing 30 minutes and boom there she was fight of her life! |
