I'm wondering what situations one would use the body bait, aka time of year. Are they used much like bull dawgs in the fall? I just purchased a pearl/red tail 2.0 out of curiosity, now I'm waiting to get some presentation ideas/proper use times.

I hear more and more about guys who use them for suspended fish. Jigging them vertically and paying close attention to the electronics for their follows.

I bought one recently for the fish that follow up and then sink down to the bottom right under the boat. I don't know if it works, but it sure seems like a good idea!

Thanks guys. I made it for casting out, counting it down and jigging it back. We went 4 and 3 the last couple days on St. Clair with it...orange and black.

I've just started messing around the these baits. The deep version and I'm very impressed at how well the Muskie perceive them! First, you can cast, jig or burn them if you want. I think because they are "thinner" they have much better hook ups than a bulldawg. Fish grab them and get hooked really well. They are perfect for current and deep water applications. Dawgs are great but if your fishing heavy current they just don't fall fast enough. The 2.0's drop right away and your down working deep edges in heavy current fast without the boat passing the bait by. You can work them like a dawg with the same rips, pulls and jerks but it falls fast so you'll have to control the fall with keeping out the slack line or work it faster with rips, pulls and pauses. I really like this bait and find it works great for neutral fish (jigging) and when they are active and moving you can work it fast like a dawg and will get some great strikes. It's perfect bait for when casting and the fish won't come up a chase down a bait. You can work it down in 10-20+ feet. I'd like to get Jon to make a slightly bigger one but give them a shot. They work!
