Subject: Reel for around $200?

Im looking to get a new reel and looking to spend not more than about $ 200 anyone got any suggestions? I've had 3 abu garcia c3s and absoutly hate them, the handles keep coming lose and the spools quit engaging.

Diawa Saltis 20 W level wind. You can pic them up on here with line for $120 or so shipped. I have a 20 and a 30 and the 20 is casting better than the 30. They are not the casting machines that the shimano's are but they have great drags and the improved release springs are cheap and easily replaced.
New they run 169.00 for th e 20 + line and you are right at $200? In my opinion Used is the way to go. I would think of selling mine then I have to shell out big money for the Tranx. The new Calcuta D sounds really impressive as well but at 379

Good Luck

Personally for blades i like the saltist 20 lw. I pull double 10s with little effort and even throw very small bucks on a 9ft xh.

If ya don't like buying used/online. Shimano Cardiff is a nice reel for under $200. Abu Record is another to look at.

Buy a Brand new Shimano Cardff 400 on Ebay for about $100 Bucks and pair it up with a Brand new TI Rod! You'll have an awsome set-up for right around $200 Bucks! (The Cardiffs are great reels)
