We are going to be on the Chip Labor Day weekend staying at the Tiger Muskie resort. I have never been on the west side. Are there dangerous areas to watch for like on the east side or is it more open. I have heard the west side is more clear so i assume lure selection is going to be a little different. Thanks.

West side is less dangerous I'd say. The water is generally clearer but has a good green algea tint to it now. clarity is probably 2-4 feet. There are a few deadhead stumps in deeper water sticking out about a foot but you should be able to see them. Also a few bogs by Banana Islands. Water is a little low now so be carefull in shallow bar areas.

With only a 3 day holiday weekend .I would get me a guide and have him keep you on the west side, have him show you spots like the Banana's , Speeds point, Blueberry flats, Cedar Tops, Horseshoe, Minn., and Chicago Bay, there's lot's of spots near Tiger Musky Resort that you can fish after dark, allso have the guide show you the best baits. Top water baits are allway's my go to baits on the Chip. Best Guide for the west side. Dave Dorazio Home# 715-464-3885

Hey have fun this weekend. I have to work on my boat. UGH.
I'd throw bulldogs in walleye too.

Forgot to ask, Two Boys looks like a little adventure to get to. My rig drafts shallow any chance on getting back there?

The water on the chip is very low right now, so there's no chance of getting back into Two Boys unless maybe you're in a canoe.

fished it a few times over the years , we never caught a musky in there over 25"s you might find a bass or two thats about it. Id like two duck hunt it some time just to see if we could call in some big northern ducks.

Please give us a report when you get back. We'll be up the second week of September and are staying at Treelands, so getting anxious and ready for the trip. I suppose we'll be fishing more on the east side of the lake but still will be interested in your report.

Make sure you have a trifecta or a tidal wave at TMR. Excellent drink choices during your stay.

Water is 2' down, no way you can get in two boys. Look for green weeds, goofy summer weather made for an early weed kill off. There are a lot of good places to fish near TMR. If you are going to venture towards Crane lake there a few bars you need to worry about on your travels. The east side is marked pretty good with white/red jugs of stuff to hit.

Check out Ty Sennetts site for some current fishing info. Sounds like pacemakers have moved fish recently.
Good luck fishing, I can't make it up this weekend. But typically a great weekend to fish. I got a fat 45" two years.

Thanks for the report everyone, any other information would be welcomed. Probably have to try both drinks to make sure which is best.

Had a great time at the Tiger Musky Resort. Great people. Fishing was good for everything but muskies. I had two swat at a bucktail in 6hrs of casting. Would really like to know how they can hit the thing and not get hooked. Thanks again for the tips.
