Location: LENA IL | Looking at a new 1760 Angler and was wondering if 130 HP would be enough or should it have a 150 on it. E-TEC or a Merc would be the option.

| you can never have to much motor E-tec's are nice but the cost of the oil is outragous. I'd take the merc 4 stroke |

| Ranger website says that hull is almost 1700 pounds. It's about the same size boat as my lund tin boat and no one thinks I'm overpowered with a 125...add 500lbs worth of boat and I'd go with the 150 hands-down. |

| 150 Opti would be my choice, but a 135 Opti would be a pretty sweet combination, too.
Opti's are better on fuel, oil, and overall performance over the ETEC and the 4 strokes. And the oil costs about $10/gal less. You can buy it in bulk for less than $30/gal maybe even less if you search around. |
