| Here are the pics of the box I made for my tuffy esox 1700 so that I could do away with my tackle boxes and give my fishing partner a butt seat to sit on.

| Thanks guys. It took some time, but it has been well worth it. We went on our annual canada fishing trip this summer without taking a single tackle box with us.  |

| Looks GREAT! And to be able to have the entire boat, open, and free of any/all tackle boxes is a huge plus! Less to trip over, safer, more room to work, etc.
Question: Did you treat that wood with anything? Or is that all bare, fresh wood? Being in a boat, which is in a wet, humid climate, putting away wet lures, rain and possibly snow all being something that a storage box like that would deal with...how do you prevent the wood from warping and or growing mold? |

| Its great not having to pack tackle boxes around and not trip over them.
The outside of the box and lids (topside and bottom) were sealed, plus the carpet glue is actually a water tight barrier, so I'm actually double covered there. The inside hangers are simply made of luan. Super light and dries in an instant. Plus the vents keep the inside dry (there is also a hole in the inside bottom that goes over the floor drain in the boat). I made a portable tackle box 4 years ago with the same inserts and exposed treated cedar wood, and have never ever had an issue with mold or warping. I cut channels in the frame of the box so that the inserts would slide into and keep them in place. I was going to use lexan, but it is heavier, more difficult to cut, and the luan does not have any issues with rubber (petroleum based lures). |
