I have a 10" phantom but am reluctant to throw it because it is so heavy, around 9.5 oz. I have a 6'9" st. croix xhf but it won't handle it, and I have a 8'6" xh bulldawg rod that loads up to the point I worry its gonna snap and its rated for 3-12 oz. I don't like long rods for my jerbait/glider rods, because I hate slapping the water with the rod tip. I've thought about the st. croix xxxh as it is shorter and I could also throw all my heavy cranks and gliders with it. Any suggestions would be great. thanks!

I use my 8'6" 2-10 oz rated bulldawg rod and it has worked just fine in some cold conditions. Give the long rod a chance and u will get used to it and wont slap the water.

I use an 8ft Muskie innovations super mag, love it. I think it's rated 4-16 oz

I like shorter jerkbait rods. My favorite is a 6' 10" Lamiglass XXH jerkbait rod. amazing rods

TT, I looked at the lamiglas website but didn't see any xxh 6'9 rod. Is this an older model and what is it rated for?

I use the 7'6" XHF, LTMU76XHF. Before that I used a AM76MHF with 6" trimmed off the tip and 3" added to the butt, kind of a toss up between the 2 but I prefer the Tourney by a slight margin. I also have the XXX and it's a little too tip heavy for my liking.
