Location: New Hope MN | I blew two tires this weekend that were in good shape. I'm guessing I have some kind of alignment issue. Where in the metro is a good place to bring your trailer in for work? |

Not sure if Kremer spring still exists in west saint paul, but I believe they used to do things with allignment.

| If it were an alignment issue you would have noticed some severe tire wear irregularities before having blow outs.
Trust me that EXTREME alignment settings won't cause blowouts. And I'm talking extremes to the point it looks like something is broken. |

Location: NW WI | By chance were the tires that blew Marathons? If so, they have a history of failures ever since they've been making them across the pond. Lots of fishing boards with complaints about them

Location: New Hope MN | I have an appointment with Kremer for Thursday. Will post an update with what they find.
Also both tires were Marathons I believe they were rated for ~1500lbs. Interesting post above...
I have a single axle trailer with a Ranger 690. |

They have done a very nice job for me in the past with alignment problems on my trailer.

That's a pretty heavy boat on a single axle trailer. 1500 pounds per tire might be the issue if that is all they carry. I have a feeling you might be seeing upwards of 4000 with the boat rigged and full of gas, which might explain the two blow outs.
Never hurts to have them look at the trailer, though...they might find something. If your capacity numbers are correct for your tires, I think you might need a higher weight rated tire.
13" or 14" rims? What size did you have on it?
You've piqued my curiosity...

Guy at Kremer said alignment was pretty good. They made a very small adjustment. The axel was also in good conidtion.
He suspects over capacity or too much weight for the tires.
I had Carlisle tires not Marathons. ST205 / 75R14
My spare was a marathon so there's the confusion.
Seeing as the late 90's 690s had dual axel trailer I suspected it has been an issue in the past and that's why they switched to 4 tires instead of 2. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my logic.
After talking to the guy at Kremer, there aren't any options to increase load capacity with a 14" rim. so, I decided to switch to 15" to get a higher load tire.
Anyone need 3 14" rims?

Location: New Hope MN | From the looks of CL, it looks like i should be able to get $200 for the 3 of them. They are aluminum wheels in good shape 5 bolt. I'll snap a picture tomorrow and post it in the buy/sell.
3 rims, 1 brand new tire, 1 worn out, and 1 blown tire. |
