I haven't had any problems with it. Used 65# and 80#. Just be sure to tie a palomar knot and I even tie a safety knot on the tag end.

Been using it for about 4 years now. This spring bought a 1500.yard spool of 80 lb. Also run 30 lb on the bass rods.

I have had the same issue. The fraying is bad enough to make me retie everytime I go out. I like the line but the fraying does concern me.

been using PP sense 2002 from 8lb to 100lb and never had a problem with it.. it's not the smoothest casting braid but it has never failed me when other smoother casting braids have failed..

Wal-Mart always has 80 pound power pro in stock and some are open 24 hours for those times you need line for a last minute fishing trip. Been using it for 10 years and I have zero complaints. I know people who blame Power Pro for not getting good casting distance, backlashes, and break offs. I fish rivers, timber, summer, and winter, adjust my reel accordingly, and use it for two to three years at a time and have had no issues to think of. If you are one that has had break-offs, try taking you're baits off your rod when not in use. Hooks can do some damage to line just like any other sharp object or surface. Good idea to check the first 30 feet of line for nicks once in a while too. Power Pro is awesome!

I have used the regular braid and super slick, they have both treated me very well. I have used 12lb for an ultra light setup, 20, 30, and 50 lb for bass and musky. I think it casts well and holds up real good. I have used spiderwire and offshore angler with lesser results, they were good in the beginning but after a month they became brittle and snapped more often than not.

I am now a die hard power pro fan!

i use 65lb and 80 Tuff xp along with PP.. Tuff is a little smoother, less bleeding but frays faster and hold 10 times more water then PP.. in cold weather late October and November i put the Tuff up.. oh yeah PP is also THINNER the Tuff.. 80lb Tuff is the same diameter as 100lb PP.. .018

Power Pro is a good line, is it the best ??????? There are going to be Pros and Cons on every line you ask about. If you ask 1000 fishermen and take a survey 450 people will love the line, and 450 people will hate the line for whatever reason and 100 will have not tried the line yet........Truth is all the lines made nowadays are close to the same price, and similar in diameters, and are tough enough to do what you want. Will they all catch fish? of course they will.
It all comes down to what you are satisfied with, some lines are green, some white, some fray easily, some don't, some are thinner, some are thicker, some are soft, some are stiff, some retain water, and some do not.......... My advise is to try the top few lines and see if they work for you. If you find something that really bothers you with one line , switch to the next......You will find One line that has 90% of all the things you are looking for in a line.. So you learn to live with the one flaw it may have.........................................................For me it's standard Tuff Line white/blk
