Who has open water left north of Highway 10? Lake DuBay and the Wisconsin River are still open so hopefully I can get out a couple of more times around here.

One of the nurses I work with informed me that DuBay had a thin layer all the way across by I-39 this A.M. It's 14 degrees here in Point, not looking good for one more time up north.

Me![]

OH WAIT!!! I am south of hwy 10 aren't I?
And I have to fish all winter don't I?
Dang!!
Oh well, somebody has to do it. If you guys wanna help, e mail me. Its a terrible burden to have to carry by yourself, fishing deserted waters, knowing that everybody else is home, snowed in, trying to scratch the fleas out of their long johns. Each fish comes with a certain amount of despair for my snowbound brothers of the chase...yeah right, I'm cryin here...[]

Ok it may be snowing like a blizzard out there today but the water temps were still in low 40s yesterday. So I will be fishing untill November 30th for sure. I know I am still due to catch a few more pigs this year yet. I need to post a pic of two on the November 2002 pics tread.

P.S. We are north of the 10 well a lot more east then north some 900 miles I believe in total. Lmao

Still have open water on the bigger Vilas county lakes. With warmer air temps forecasted for this week lakes like Trout, Presque Isle etc should b fishable. Icy landings are causing some problems.Carrying A bucket of sand is suggested.Nice fish being taken on medium suckers.Fish are hitting very light and an immediate hook set is reccommended

Butternut Lake is done. Supposed to get into the low 40's early next week, but I think she's still done for the year.

Tomahawk was frozen about 150 yards out this morning, Minoqua was about the same. Looks like 30's all week, so no thawing to speak of.

Couderay, Grindstone, Whitefish still open and accessible in Hayward. Round is open in main lake but access could be a problem.
