| Is the reel worth the money? I'm hoping to cast bucktails and swimbaits with it, is this reel durable and will last a long time? (I fish alot)

| Is the reel able to bring in some of the bigger bucktails? I have some double tens that I never used before because I haven't found a reel strong enough to bring them in.

| Hey there seoul----- i have used SEVERAL of these reels over the years and YES, they are ABSOLJUTELY worth the money. They are not the best reels on the market-----but, as with anything, you get what you pay for! These reels are durable as long as you do some routine maintenance once in awhile(oil,lube), tighten loose nuts and screws, and loosen your drags completely when not in use for long periods of time. The 6500s will last for years and you can pound nails in with 'em at the end of the day-----for the money-----they work great. I throw 11 inch Eagletails all day long with em----no problem! throw dawgs on 'em-----not pounders mind you-------but the rest of the dawgs easily. I use 'em trolling, casting-----and as sucker reels in the fall----decent clickers on them. Just rememeber they're not 500 dollar Tranxs or 450 dollar Calcutta TJVs---and you'll be fine----- Good luck----Jobu |

Location: Minneapolis | This is my second season with mine and I love it. I use it for everything except rubber and 10s. Hardly used 10s last season because it's too hard to bring them in w/ the 6500. |

| I've got 4 6501"s and a couple 6001 which are over 20 yrs old. they hold up real well and most reel repair shop's can fix em for ya if something goes out. I went with them because the 01's are left hand retreive. Just bought a 7001 for big doubles, the 6501's can't trun the blades over. The 7001 work's great for big doubles and big divers. |

Yes. About a week ago I put a power handle on a 5500C3 I've been pulling double 10s with and it made a noticeable difference... well worth the investment IMO. I'll most likely be putting a power handle on any other C3 I use, for bucktails or not. |

Location: NorthCentral WI | The Ambassedeur line up in general is solid for the price. I own a couple of C3s and C4s. Depending on the amount of use and what you're throwing, you can expect to have to replace a part here and there. However, Ambassedeurs are the easiest reels to take apart, clean, replace parts if needed, and relube. Also, parts for them are widely available, chances are a shop in your area stocks parts. Overall, if you keep them lubed and replace parts when needed they are tough to beat for the price point. And yes, a power handle does wonders for 10s. |

| i've had lots od them over the yrs, i have noticed the older ones were better than new ones but for musky fishing there cheaper price so they work but if you want them to last for any length of time dont throw 10's or 8's either lol |

Location: NorthCentral WI | I've had one for over 5 years that's been used to throw 10's enough and admittedly I've replaced a few parts. The reel is not going to be junk. Parts break, you replace them, and keep casting. I know I've replaced the A/R bearing once, the pinion yoke once, and the pawl/worm gear set a couple of times. All easy fixes that anyone with a tiny bit of mechanical aptitude should be able to do themselves. So, the reel should last a long time as long as you maintain it.
