Taking my first trip to Vermillion last week of October and staying at Vermillion Dam Lodge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Catch and Release only!
Few questions if someone could answer:
1) Are there any guides that would take 3 people? Would they come in my boat?
2) Any navigation dangers I need to be concerened about in that area of the lake?
3) Do I need to travel very far from the resort to get on fish?

I am going for a trophy. Been Musky fishing for 24 years and have not cracked the 50" barrier, stuck on 49". Again, any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I live in Milwaukee, WI and could provide plenty of information on Pewaukee, Okauchee and Oconomowoc if anyone were going to be in this area.

You will love VDL!!! The staff and the cabins are great! Call Luke Ronnestrand and you will not be sorry! He will probably do 3...not sure, but probably would not do it out of your boat...also not sure, just guessing!

I agree!!
Luke Ronnestrand is your man.
The owner of VDL can help you out, with where to go, and how to get them, if you cant't book Luke.

Hey odk----you could also get ahold of Wild Bill Rosner---he guides folks out of VDL----and puts some BIG fish in the boat.As for VDL, itself,--------GREAT lodge-----GREAT staff-------CENTRALLY located so you can fish both sides with ease. Get your dbl 10's, pounders, and giant topwaters ready-----and hold on!!! Ed will mark a map for the reefs and stump fields that you should be cautious about-----no problem navigating. Catch a monster-----Jobu

Luke is an awesome guide. You could also get Steve Amundson, who I think is the best guide on the lake, to guide for big fish. It seems his resort has always got people catching big fish. I caught my 56.5" while staying at his resort.

Bruce or Bill Schumway would be a good pick that time of the year. They really have the fall musky's figured out up there!
