| In 2002 what was your opinions on the new and old topwaters out on the market. Did any live up to the hype? |

| It was tough to beat my black Hawg Wobbler.
I liked most of the Musky Buster stuff however. There double Stomper makes a ton of noise! |

| HR Top Prey for me. I love that bait. The fish do tend to miss the bait more than a straight retreived bait, but it seems I had many more opportunities with the Top Prey than any other surface bait. |

|
| Topraider(standard) continued to be the standby. Pacemaker also popped a few, but big fish. Super topraider sucked, but was good for swapping hardware for baits I use. Frenchies old surf stir popped my personal best this year, and was hot all summer. |

| Last year i did not see a fish on a single topwater lures. This year its only been the doc. |

| The topraider has seen all our action this year so far but next year some of those unorthodox baits will get more time. |

| Good topic,
I'm a topwater junkie. I fish lots of shallow lakes and reservoirs in the Ashland County WI area, and topwaters rule in many of these spots--over stumps and shallow weed beds, and pretty much any structure near shore, especially with the stained water I see often, topwaters are the numbers game
1) Black Hawg Wobbler--runs faster and works better if you expand slightly the space between the front & back pieces (just untwist the screws slightly, maybe 1/8 inch)
2) Black Pacemaker -- I know this will slay the dragon, not a lot of action yet but it's first on the line every time out.
3) Topper Stopper -- also black, and I have either silver or chartreuse blades. Hits a lot of bonus bass, which is nice when the skis are shy
4) cherry twist--I just love gadget baits, got a new Cherry Twist in the Bicentennial pattern, red white & blue with stars & stripes. a real patriot's bait. probably won't catch any Democrat muskies on that one...
Later kids,
Papa Joe

- globes made by my buddy Dieter Maiberg
- whirlygig made by my buddy dieter
- a jointed surface buzzer I made
which ones will I be using next year:
- topraider
- giant jackpot
- pacemaker (small size)
- mike's creeper from bauer tackle

| My bait that put the most fish in the boat this year was the Topraider. That thing just keeps on producing for me. A bait that most hate and I love is the Awaker. I have caught more fish on that bait than any other in my box over the years. |
|
| |
|
| Both the topraider and Super top raider were my choices this past season. I moved some fish on them by no takers. This was the first year I can think of in a long long time I never got a fish on topwater.[:blackeye:] |

| PACEMAKER LARGE ONE
THIS IS A MUST HAVE TOPWATER!!
SOMTHING THAT'S BEEN NEEDED FOR A LONG TIME A TOPWATER THAT WILL RUN IN A BIG CHOP AND ROLLERS. I DIDN'T CATCH ANYTHING ON IT THIS YEAR BUT I KNOW 2 HOT CHICKS WHO KICKED OUR BUTTS ON IT IN CANADA.
TY KEEP THE VOLUME DOWN ON YOUR DEMO TAPE AT THE SHOWS THIS YEAR. IT DROVE EVERYBODY NUTS AFTER 10 HOURS OF CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK........

| Where I know there is a fish the Creeper gets bit. For a search bait I have ggod luck with the Topraider. |

|
| This year my best topwater was the Viper in the Nuclear Bee color. Other ones were Topraider and Cherry Twist, Pacemaker and the Lac Suel Topwater by American Hardwood Lures.

| The jackpot has put more fish in the boat for me and more misses too. Moved a few fish on the topraider but only boated 2. It is tough to decide which to throw. Next year going to add a creeper to the arsenal. |

| Dog Turd
Pacemaker, big one
Musky Buster, not sure of the name, but it is a zig zag bait, and REALLY runs well
Topper Stopper

|
| The Jackpot was the best top water lure for me this year. I had more follows and caught more fish with this lure than any other top water lure in my box. The only down fall with this lure is that I had a number of fish take a swing at it and miss. |

| Slammer Top Dog is by far the best winged bait in the business. Accounted for some big fish out of my boat these last two years!!
Mag Teasertail and the Topraider were awesome too!
HR Top Prey is without a doubt an awesome big fish catcher. Comanche Jim is right. I believe the reason it is so awesome, is that it stays in the fish zone longer, because of it's weight!

| Super-Raider lived up to expectations, got a couple of fish. The pace-maker was a disappointment. Nothing beats a topwater hit and the fish finning behind it. Good fishing, Al[] |

| The Topraider was the choice for me this year. Caught several nice fish. The biggest was 6' 5" and 285 lbs. Yep...I drove the tail hook all the way thru my thumb. Had to cut the hook, push all the way thru. First time in 50 years of muskie fishing. Unbelievably, it never really got sore and needed only a bandaid. Still a small hard knot in the thumb. I would have to say it has excellent hooking power. |
