Suick found in Pelican Lake Musky

Tuesday my brother was fishing Pelican Lake and caught a 40"class musky on a sucker that had a suick, leader, and about a foot of what appeared to be PowerPro line hooked into its mouth. There was no rust on any of the hooks and the fish was in good condition so it must have recently happened.
Anybody out there lose a suick to a Pelican Lake musky recently?
This fish got lucky and was released in much better shape than it was caught and my brother got a good suick.

He did get a picture but I don't have access to it at this time. He did say the fish did not put up much fight but it and the suick were in good shape. I'm still waiting to get the negative of the 40-45 lber I caught and released a few weeks ago put on CD,then I will post it. Might be time to buy a digital camera.
Time to get ready to go fishing in the morning. It may be the last weekend of soft water in Northern Wisconsin.
Maybe I'll catch a BIG fish this time!

It's nice to know they will still feed when hauling the junk yard around on thier face! It probably wore itself down with a couple days of headshakes. Good story[:0] happy ending[]

Our group was fishing about 4 weeks ago and one of our guys lost what he thought was about a mid 40" fish at boatside. He was using a suick and power pro line which broke when the fish turned and jumped out of the water and probably cut the line with the gill plate. He was fishing down near the town boat landing at southeast end of the lake. I think the color of the suick was fire-tiger but I could be wrong. Don't know if it's the same fish but nice to here it was alive and well and you got a new suick.

Hi Bob,
Tell your brother a guy from MF will pay him $25 plus shipping for that Suick, assuming he isn't too attached to it yet.

I promise it'll be put to good use.

Later,
Papa Joe

Oops, I meant:
That Suick's got to be the one I LOST; yeah...
Had a great big strike but the old line must have been nicked up.

Of course, I'll be glad to buy him a beer and cover S&H.

Unreal, I had completely forgotten that happened, it was just the other day...

Love Pelican Lake in the fall,
Papa Joe

the suick was brown and orange and it looked like the line got wrapped in the leader knot and broke,it was not a jerkbait leader. As the fish swam away I think she winked at me.[] Tom Patza

How incredibly proper that this would involve a Suick on Pelican. I bet Steve SUick would get a kick out of the story, drop him a line!![;)]
