Subject: gps installation question

Location: Madison		I bought a used gps unit with no manual. The connector that goes to the head unit to the gps puck has two leads, one goes into the puck and the other had been cut. There are 3 wires in the in the bundle, red, white and black, The red and black are for the power, can anyone tell me what the white is for?

Location: Madison		I looked on the website and couldn't find anything. They did have a users manual online but nothing about the wiring in it.
I was thinking it is the ground also thanks for the 2nd opinion.
