| I know that it is still a ways away, but what is your go to lure in the spring and early summer. What lure is putting fish in the boat? Or at least getting you follows?

| For spring fishing I almost always have a smaller twitchbait of some kind going in the boat. My favorites include the 6" Jake and the Baby ShallowRaider.
Other baits that have been productive for me in the first part of the season include smaller bucktails, Rizzo Whizzes, and don't forget the glide baits. Last year the Jerko performed quite well in May and June.
Another bait that I have had decent luck with in the spring is the TopRaider. I know a lot of people say you can't catch fish on topwater until there are ducklings around, but I think these people are missing out on a pretty decent early topwater bite. If the water is in a steady warming trend don't be afraid to look for them on top.
Small and slow is a the general rule of thumb when picking baits in the early season, but with all other general rules in musky fishing, there are just some days when this does not apply.

| Thanks for sharing, I have found that small seems to be better in the spring as well, but I did get one on a 10" jake last year in the spring so who knows!

| A little Slammer! Twitch it over the new weeds, the stones, and up on the shallow sand near docks and other man made structure.[]
The Husky Jerk is also a good choice. |

| does anybody use the vibrax bucktails? I saw these a lot in the In-Fisherman tapes about musky fishing and they seemed to do really well on them. Extra weighted with a sinker weight added to the shaft of the bucktail |

| 5" Slammers, Undertakers and the new Slammer Jerkbait was awesome this past spring.[;)] |
