| Looking to add one of these to the arsenal which do you guys prefer for double 10's and up most likely to be putting my winch on it.looking at the 8'6" size. |

| I have the 9'3" XH by Okuma and it handles Pounders and 13s without issue. Not sure if the 8'6" is a softer blank or something? If you are plannign to use it for blades I would definitely consider going 9'3 for the Figure 8. My sense was rod perfers heavier baits, very stiff with lots of back bone. Really comes into it's own with big rubber IMO. Solid starter big bait rod.

| I've been using the 8 footer for 3 years and love it. I believe it's XH. It can handle 2 - 6 oz baits it says on it. I throw Jr Double Cow girls and regular Cow girls 90% of the time.
I love this rod. Bought a back up to bring to Canada with me this year because if I broke the first one, I would be heartbroken for the rest of the trip.

Yes the 8'6" XH is a considerable softer tip than the 9'3" XH |

| For your application I'd probably choose the XXH. It's a very stiff rod and it doesn't load as well as the 9'3" does on the backcast, but you probably fight the tip less on the retrieve and in the 8. I don't throw anything above a double 10, but my 9'3" XH gets the nod every time mainly because I can cast it farther than the XXH. I also throw lots of different baits with it, but if I were choosing a dedicated 10s and 13s rod I'd probably stick go with the XXH. |

Location: Lake County Illinois | The 8'6" xxh with a winch is my setup for double 10s and i love it,i also have the 9'3" xh and have tried that also with my winch for double 10s and it is good also but has a softer tip and seem to be fighting a little bit more on the figure 8s than with the xxh.Pretty much what the guest above said and also think the 9'3"xh is a more versatile rod,but between the 2 rods you mentioned xxh for sure. |

Location: Madison WI | With the rods listed which I have both of I would use my XXH every time if I didn't already have another rod for Double 10's. I did use the XXH for 2-3 years before I started using a different rod for that application and the Okuma XXH performed extremely well. |

Location: Racine, Wi | Personally, I'd use the 9'3 XH. The 8'6 XXH is okay for burning blades, but the 9'3" XH is a better all around rod and can handle 10"s no problem. Lots of hours on that rod with 10s and don't really have any concerns. It will load up a little bit in the tip, but it also casts the 10s better then the XXH so it's a wash for me. Plus, you can throw pretty much anything else with the 9'3 xh so you get a more multi purpose rod verses a rod for one or two presentations (the xxh). |

Location: MN | Does anyone know how much the 9'3" XH telescopic compresses down to? I can't seem to find it on their site.
Is the 8'6" or 9'3" a better all purpose rod? Not throwing anything huge with it, probably mag dawgs and double cowgirls will be the biggest and it'll be paired with a 400d. Thanks |

Location: Lake County Illinois | Measured my 9'3" collapsed was 7'6",I have all the models in the telescopic series and the 8'6" and 9'3" xh are my two favorite rods in the group getting the most use.I really like the 8'6" for small to mid size crankbaits and smaller bucktails,once I get to double 10s and heavier crankbaits I like the 9'3".But if I could only have one I would say the 9'3" would offer you more versatility. |

Location: Seymour, WI | I have all three of the Okuma rods being discussed here and I would say the 9'3" rod is by far the best for throwing double tens. It loads and casts tens very nicely. The 8'6" XXH rod is very stiff. I used it for jigging Bondy baits and I thought it worked great for that, but for double tens, go with the 9'3" rod, you won't be disappointed.

| i have an xxh its rated 4-12 and double 10s are barley 3 oz but it freakin slings them. i was out throwin em today just for fun. xxh also throws pounders really good but for me magnums are harder to throw. i love my xxh 8'6". i heard the 9'3" xh was a BEAST to |
