Just got back from a couple weeks on the V. Tough fishing with temps in the 90's throughout our stay.

Fished all over and took 2 fish (40" and 44") on the rocks and one 45 "er in the weeds ...or THE weed :-))

Sorry, haven't figured out to post a pic yet.

Not too bad but I danged sure worked for them. All on AHL topwater Redwing Blackbird (thanks Mick) http://www.musky-lures.com/mini.html - a fav. bait as of this year...

Walleye nailed a muskie spinnerbait but was a bit big to keep and we managed a few keeper-sized pike for fresh fish sandwiches.

I think I lost 5 pounds with all the chuckin' but it was well worth it.

We're up here now till tomorrow. Will agree fishing has been tough. Very short windows then long hours of nothing. And to top it off starting Fri aft it's been a frickin zoo. Jockey for position constantly is no fun, but a fact of life here on the weekends.

what time of the year would you suggest going up to Vermilion that's the best?

8 over 50" at Spring Bay in the last 4 days, and Steve got a 56.75.

I've heard similar reports. Go west young man.

Sounds like the west side is the place to be.
