I am wanting to get a house boat for a full 7 days. I am planning this for next year 2013 mid to late July. Does anyone have any experience with any of the outfitters up there? Is there any location better than another. I want to mainly muskie fish but wouldn't mind eating walleye every night.
Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post for everyone to see
or give me a call
Thanks

We've done multiple trips with both Houseboat Adventures out of Kenora, and Lake of the Woods Houseboats out of Sioux Narrows. We were happy with both, although if we'd do it again, we'd run out of Kenora....only because its closer to better muskie water (in my opinion, which I'm sure others folks could quite reasonably disagree with...there's some great water near Sioux Narrows as well). In our experience, you couldn't go wrong with either choice. You'll find excellent walleye fishing in both locales.

We used http://www.floatinglodges.com/boats.htm for a 7 day trip a few years ago and really liked the boat and the service they provided. They came out mid week with gas and any groceries we needed. They also seemed cheaper than most other companies. One thing to keep in mind is the fuel cost. We went like 30 miles in the houseboat and it cost a fortune with the boat gas and running the generator to keep the power going. All that said, it was awesome to be out in the middle of the lake with noone around!!

+1 on Wilderness Houseboats. Our second trip and they have been great. The fishing has been outstanding in the Morson area also.

+ 1 on Houseboat Adventures out of Kenora. Personally think Kenora is the best are on LOTW for muskies as well.
