If I were to buy bulk boxes of treble hooks for replacement hooks, what would u recommend as a good choice overall. For dawgs, tubes, crank baits, gliders...

Thanks

Ditto on the VMC 8650 and 9626. Eagle Claw 774 as well.

This is just an amateur's opinion on this, but the treble hooks I like the best are the Japanese brand, Gamakatsu. Sharp as heck right out of the package. Fit the hook size to the lure. You want the best action out of the lure that you can get. For instance, I had to downsize all the hooks on my 6" Jakes to get the lure action to where it was acceptable. You might lose a fish to a straightened hook, but you won't even get the hit if the lure is not seductive. How many times have you lost a fish to straightened hooks?

Gammies are nice hooks but the problem I have with them is that they are hard to find in the size I want. I can find them in the smaller sizes but 5/0 & 7/0 are hard to come by. I never had a Gammie straighten out but have had them break on fish.

I love the Musky Innovation Plasma Points. I carry with me a whole box of them from 3/0 all the way up to 8/0. Not sure why they aren't more popular then they are. Very sharp right out of the box. The main criticisms i hear is that their bard isn't large enough, but this smaller bard allows me to remove the hooks a lot easier in the net, which I think is better for the fish. I'm a big fan.

If you buy gamakatsu you HAVE to get the 4x, the normal Gamakatsy 13 treble is way to weak for even pike fishing!
