| Im just a beginner for musky fishing and i noticed there was the Shimano Sojourno Heavy Musky Casting Rod, its only $40 but does anybody know if this rod is durable enough? I fish alot but i usually cast small jerkbaits to some bigger topwater lures. |

Location: Ogden, UTAH 10 minutes from pineview reservoir | i had it and sold it! its not very stout will throw half oz to maybe 2 oz anything heavier is loading that rod up too much! Spend a little more and get a stouter rod or found a decent priced baitcaster, i have a couple brand new baitcasters for sale and could give you a good deal if your interested

Location: WV | I think it is a decent entry level rod. I have used them but upgraded. Still use them as my down rods in my trolling set. |

| Thanks, I have decided not to get the rod but instead now i have a chance of either gettting a Reaction strike 8' rod or a musky innovations 8' rod, not sure which one to choose :/ and i just bought a abu garcia 7000i so im good on reels but thanks for the offer :D |

Location: WV | Can't speak of the Reaction Strike but I do have a Musky Innovations rod and have been very pleased with it. Also take a look at Tackle Industries rods too. |

Location: Madison, WI | Look for a shimano compre rod, older 1 piece models are much better IMHO than the new 2 piece rods. Other inexpensive rods are Okuma EVX @$100 (varied weights) gander's tournament musky @$90 (up to 6oz) , Gander's advantage musky $49 (up to 3oz), or get a tackle industries @$120 and have your pick of how tough you want it to be. |
