I have several of the older Lakeood Boxes that have the wooden dividers and have used them for years with no problems. I recently purchased a Lakewood Musky Jr that I wanted to use when I fished out of my buddies smaller boat. This new Lakewood came with plastic insert dividers. From what I've read, these new plastic inserts react with the materials that make up the Bulldawgs. My question is, if the Bulldawg is in contact with the Lakewood Plastic insert for a short period (just for a day at a time) and not continous, would I still experience this melting that others report? Second question, has anyone ever used that "rubber" that comes in a spray can and tried coating the Lakewood plastic dividers with it to protect it from coming in contact with the Bulldawg? I'm just wondering what my limits will be with these divider inserts and I still find it amazing that Lakewood hasn't fixed this problem yet (or why they haven't gone back to the white wooden dividers they used to have in their boxes). Thanks in advance for your help.

Wow you had white dividers? I had to paint mine white. My suggestion to you is take the bulldawgs and put them in a big clear storage box. This way you have them together and it doesn't eat up the space of your musky box. I don't like them in the box cause they end up getting the tails smashed by the lid.

My Lakewood Musky Medium Box has white wooden dividers. My Lakewood Extreme box has black wooden dividers (I really hate the black. Really tough to see what is in there), and this new Lakewood Musky Junior has white plastic dividers. I like your idea of painting the dividers (which I may do with the black inserts of my Extreme), but I am wondering how reactive the rubber of the Bulldawgs is with the plastic of the white dividers I have in my Musky Junior box. I have searched and found people who offer different solutions (e.g. Shelf liner, painting, etc.), but would a Bulldawg that is only in the box for a day at a time damage the dividers? Thanks again for the response and if anyone else has any experience or advice, please let me know.
