Due to recent trailer issues, I get to travel to the Hayward area this coming weekend. I'll likely have my 13 year-old son in tow (so to speak). Any suggestions for a "numbers" lake nearby - preferably south (I'll check out the lunge log myself). Thanks in advance.

A short search of this forum will turn up some dandies. And look for lakes with 28" size limits.

Winter lake is south of Hayward and just to the east of Winter. Muskies are abundant in this water. Good luck and have fun.

tiger cat flowage.. my dad lives there. 28" limit. multiple catch days are very common. got 6 in a 2 hour time span a few years ago. 38" being the biggest. 29" the smallest. seen some good ones in there too.

Moose Lk. east of Hayward has a bunch of mid 30" fish. Also Sand Lk. southeast of Hayward is a good action lake.
