| Too hot for muskies and I want something to eat, so where do you go to find crappie in warm water? Any advice on depth, structure type/location, lure type/color, et cetera is appreciated. |

Location: Apple Valley | I got Crappies today using 2"twister tail with a jig. 10"to12" water with wind blowing into the weed edge. I hammered the bass also using this set up. So much fun!

| That's how I fish for them in the Spring, only in slightly shallower water. It's fun picking up lots of bass and bluegill along the way. |

| The trout guys go through the Gulp pretty good in the Spring and the stores don't make much of an effort to keep them restocked. Hopefully I can find a stray container.
I'd like to get into using slip bobbers, but I don't know which size to buy. Any suggestions? I would mainly use 1/16 oz jigs. |

Yep. Try Gulp Alive 1" minnows on a small jig floated with a bobber.
This, right into downed trees or sunken timber. I pulled a limit of crappies in less than an hour last weekend. I drifted up right against a large downed tree and anchored parallel. Dropping the jig in all the holes around the tree. Action was so hot I ditched the bobber and lightly jigged around the branches. Lots of fun... 3' to the side of the tree - nothing. Buried in the cover.

| i second the 1" gulp alive but i like to use a drop shot rig in deeper (18-30') water, i consistently find bigger fish this way |

| Don't forget to look for suspended crappies! Look for baitfish schools that look like a Christmas tree on your graph. Crappies like to layer themselves. Remember that they feed up, so it is better to be too shallow than too deep.
