Location: Madison, WI | I tried searching so forgive me if this is beat up topic but I didnt recieve the answers i was looking for. I recently tried using a rod with a split grip handle and I loved it, or should i say my rib cage loved it Is there anyway to turn a full cork handle into a split grip handle or even possibly extending it?? Now this is not something I would try myself obviously. I plan on picking up some TI rods in the near future but id like to customize (if possible) my shimano compre 8' rod to my liking since for the most part I love this rod and it is my first rod for muskies besides the used combo i used last year for sucker fishing. Thanks !! |

Location: Northern New Jersey | i did it myself on a few bass rods. its not all that hard if youre careful. i just chipped away at the cork until i got the handle how i wanted it, and then i rounded the ends with a hasp and sandpaper. i coated the open graphite with clear nail polish after i scrubbed it to get the cork glue off. seems to be holding up alright, have 2-3 seasons on it. |
