Location: Contrarian Island | My 80 lb power drive randomly stops turning left and right once in a while, not sure if it's the foot pedal yet, i will try a new pedal tomorrow nite,
but it resolves itself if i unplug the main power from the boat and plug it back in...then it works...anyone else have that happen ? is it just the footpedal or something more...?
motor still powers forward but won't turn left or right until i unplug and plug back in....hmmmm

Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | I don't know,.....Mine did the same thing and I replaced the foot pedal, and it worked fine.
A new foot pedal may be cheaper and less time ?........If it doesn't work at least you have a new pedal.
I'm on my 3rd in 7 years of use.
Good Luck.

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Hiya,
I would say foot pedal as well and finally went with a copilot and the cordless foot pedal because I went through 3 pedals within 2 years... The first one lasted me 4 years, but then the replacements have been poor at best. So far, the cordless has been nice and can adjust speed easily with the press of a button using my foot.
If the control board needs to be replaced, you can do it yourself. If you order the board, they come with the wiring connections. You could also take a picture of yours before removal so you have all the connections right there to look at. I had a control board go out on one a few years ago, and it took about 10 minutes to replace.... It's that easy!!

Location: Savage, MN | I to say foot pedal. My PD70 V2 did the same thing, except it was the right steer. I would try a new pedal before spending the same amount with labor on top of it. Good luck. |
